Eligibility of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin:

  • Households below the poverty line (BPL): Identified through Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.
  • Landless households: Owning no cultivable land.
  • Households with kutcha houses: Houses built with temporary materials like mud, thatch, etc.
  • Households with dilapidated houses: Houses in dangerous or pucca category but structurally unsafe.
  • Priority is given to SC/ST, differently-abled, widows, and ex-servicemen.

Documents Required of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin:

  • Aadhaar card: For all family members.
  • Job card (MGNREGA): If applicable.
  • Caste certificate: If SC/ST.
  • Disability certificate: If applicable.
  • Income certificate: If not BPL.
  • Land documents: If owning land.
  • Bank account details: For receiving financial assistance.

Registration Process of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin:

  1. Visit the official PMAY-G website: http://iay.nic.in/netiay/home.aspx
  2. Click on “New Registration” and choose your state and district.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number to register.
  4. Fill in the application form: Provide details like family composition, income, housing status, etc.
  5. Upload scanned copies of the required documents.
  6. Submit the application form and download a printout for future reference.

  • Deadline extended to March 2024: You have more time to apply!
  • Increased financial assistance: The financial aid per house has been increased to ₹1.2 lakh in plain areas and ₹1.3 lakh in hilly/difficult areas.
  • Focus on toilets and LPG connections: Along with pucca houses, the scheme now emphasizes providing toilets and LPG connections for improved sanitation and living standards.
